Some times youth fall behind academically as they advance throughout grade school. They have problems coping with the social pressures they encounter. They are unable to maintain their academic skills while school is not in session. Their is a lack of structured youth employment/ entrepreneurship programs that will keep them. There is a need for activities for youth where they learn how to create an effective career plan so that they become responsible teenagers and young adults.
Our volunteers sit with our clients and create a detailed collaborative plan created with detailing the next steps needed to take to obtain the future that they want. The plan includes steps from initiation to completion with information and referrals for items such as:

Many Americans, including a large number of young people, currently experience low levels of financial capability, high levels of economic vulnerability, and barriers to building economic stability. Developing strong financial skills is important to young people, especially to disadvantaged youth who may have limited resources and access to financial education and services.
Some low-income youth lack formal basic marketable skills necessary to compete for and/or obtain employment.
The CFAC of Nassau County, Inc. assists with the future of our clients with workshops on career training. We also will host and refer clients to workshops from various creative experts where they talk about their specific field and about their process to succeed.
