Overview

The Catered Future Arts Council of Nassau County, Inc. formed for the charitable purpose of fostering, nurturing, and sustaining artistic excellence and creating a climate in which the arts and humanities may flourish in Nassau County by offering equitable support to youth interested in pursuing an artistic or creative career path with career and entrepreneurship counseling, free workshops, referral to art programs, free art supplies, and financial support

We believe the arts are a necessary part of every community and create opportunities for political expression, community dialogue, shared experiences, and civic work.

We support family involvement in all stages of a youth’s growth and believe it is imperative to a successful career path.
We strive to create economic opportunities for individuals that have been denied them and advance new equitable programs that are sustainable.

The Problem

There is a need in Nassau County for equitable and accessible youth entrepreneurship and job readiness programs focused on artists and creatives. This has likely caused many Nassau County youth to be unaware of the best practices to break into the artistic career which may in turn affect their view of their communities support for the arts. This may result in them moving to and seeking out opportunities New York City, out of state, or forgetting about their artistic future altogether.

The Solution

The Catered Future Arts Council of Nassau County, Inc. plans to create programs that will assist youth and young adults in Nassau County by creating a step by step plan that will encourage artistic careers. We will create and promote artistic events, as well as create artist spaces where community members can support local artists. The goal is to create an artistic community in Nassau County where creatives will be supported and encouraged.
